CBS: ‘Stunning’ veteran suicide rate is twice that of non-veterans
Suicide among veterans of Afghanistan and Iraq has been a problem of increasing seriousness. Veteran suicides now double non-vet suicides; 5000 veteran suicides can be expected this year. The Veterans Authority, who released those statistics, has promised to beef up its mental health services. A CBS study suggests the numbers may be far worse.

Returning Troops Offered Help For PTSD
The VA has seen a tenfold increase in PTSD cases in the last year. According to the VA, more than 37,000 Vets of Iraq and Afghanistan are suffering from Mental Health disorders, and more than 16,000 have already been diagnosed with PTSD.
